Hail Holy Queen
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy! Hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn, then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy towards us; and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

When the Song of the Angels is Stilled
When the song of the angels is stilled, When the star in the sky is gone, When the kings and princes are home, When the shepherds are back with their flock, The work of Christmas begins: To find the lost, To heal the broken, To feed the hungry, To release the prisoner, To rebuild the nations, To bring peace among brothers, To make music in the heart. Howard Thurman I am Joseph
I am Joseph, carpenter, Of David’s kingly line, I wanted an heir; discovered My wife’s son wasn’t mine. I am an obstinate lover, Loved Mary for better or worse, Wouldn’t stop loving when I found Someone Else came first. Mine was the likeness I hoped for When the first-born man-child came. But nothing of him was me. I couldn’t Even choose his name. I am Joseph, who wanted To teach my own boy how to live. My lesson for my foster son: Endure. Love. Give. UA Fanthorpe A Prayer for the Third Sunday of Advent
God of glory and compassion at your touch the wilderness blossoms broken lives are made whole, and fearful hearts grow strong in faith. Open our eyes to your presence and awaken our hearts to sing your praise. To all who long for your Son’s return grant perseverance and patience, that we may announce in word and deed the good news of the kingdom. We ask this through him whose coming is certain, whose day draws near: your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever.
